Artist Statement
Kida, Tan Zu Wen
b. 1995, Johor, Malaysia
My works are mostly related to my living environment as I believe that little things matter the most.I appreciate what has been surrounded me. I paint to document moments or events that might be left out or forgotten, and always present the emotions towards my growth experience and observations of my daily life. My works always depict nature or something organic in subjective way by exploring expressive qualities of brushstrokes to construct forms and structures while maintaining a firm connection to recognizable subject matter. I believe that I am able to communicate with my works during painting and eventually create imaginary or something beyond visual effects.
